Changing the passcode

The passcode is not stored in this app and cannot be changed from here. It is an environment variable on Vercel, and the portal only ever reads it.

1. Open Vercel → billyos-portal → Settings → Environment Variables.
2. Edit PORTAL_PASSWORD and set the new value.
3. Go to Deployments, open the newest one, and choose Redeploy.

Step 3 is not optional. The value is read when the site is built, so saving it in Vercel changes nothing on its own. Until the redeploy finishes, the old passcode is still the one that works.

Right now the live passcode is coming from PORTAL_PASSWORD, the older name, which this app still reads as a fallback. Setting PORTAL_PASSCODE takes over from it. Two live names for one secret is what shut the portal for two days in September, so it is worth settling on PORTAL_PASSCODE and deleting the other.
